Knowing where we come from to understand where we are going
A tale that smacks of passion, my curiosity about the origins of the Doric Boutique Hotel was soon indulged: the plot of land where the complex stands was purchased in 2008, the original state was a wasteland devoid of any plants.
In 2009, work began on the home by the owner, who poured his craft and skill as an architect into the attention to detail and perfect harmony of the structure.
In 2013, the main building became a residence; from the very beginning, attention to the environment was a top priority. The class A++ building is designed for water recovery, natural ventilation and a power supply through photovoltaic and solar thermal system.
The business has always been carried out with great passion obtaining great results and appreciation from the thousands of guests who have stayed there.
In 2018, the property was expanded to become a Boutique Hotel, new elegant and original rooms were built, each with its own terrace and private pool, and other facilities such as a spa and an excellent restaurant were added.
In 2022 the property was expanded to include 5 Villa suites with private pools and a Villa suite with jacuzzi. The new accommodations, surrounded by olive trees, pistachio trees and a historic vineyard, are placed in an extremely quiet and relaxing area within the hotel, yet without sacrificing the view of the Temple of Juno.
In 2023 the hotel crowns all the efforts made over the years with the achievement of the 5-star rating and the Doric Wellness & Spa is built, an elegant and comfortable place composed of Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, cold room, emotional shower and a panoramic hot tub.
In 2024, a massive renovation of the original main building in which the Standard rooms were located is carried out. The latter are significantly expanded and made Junior suites, each with a hot tub with a frontal view of the Temple of Juno.
In the same year, a relic vineyard dating back to the second half of the 18th century was planted, an ancient native variety of black berry Inzolia whose production had been completely destroyed. This is a very important heritage with unique organoleptic peculiarities that with great commitment and dedication the Hotel wishes to safeguard and share with guests by organizing wine tastings.
Also nearing completion is a Sicilian baglio converted from an old 19th-century fortified farmhouse with a large courtyard. The baglio, which has been expertly and meticulously restored to retain its original properties, will consist of 4 bedrooms with private bathrooms and will offer a large dining room and a courtyard with a fully equipped kitchen. Near the baglio, in an area surrounded by pistachio trees, an area
dedicated to organizing Sicilian cooking classes and tastings will be set up.

The facility is equipped with all modern amenities, including an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the Temples with swim-up bar, a gymnasium, a panoramic spa, and a rooftop restaurant, Ambrosia, where the chef uses organic and local produce from our farm and herbs from our garden. Doric is eco-sustainable: we use photovoltaic and thermal energy and give water a new life through a phyto-purification system. and a kind 24/7 resident service team.
